Project Document Number GTMP-5076 L-1011_mod1 Triangular aluminum plate (1/4” thick) installed in each wing from the forward cam-lock attachment to the main landing gear assembly. Removable Inboard main gear mounting plate attachment to facilitate main gear installation. OEM spar replaced with a 1.25” OD x 0.125” thick aluminum tube (6061-T6). Wing Upgrades

Project Document Number GTMP-5076 L-1011_mod1 END Total weight increase for “L-1011_mod1” was 4.13 lbs. Higher wing loading for the pilots. More forgiving on hard landings however the main gear assemblies need replacing more often. Some time involve in setting the main gear assembly orientation so that it operate correctly. Labor to do the upgrades was 60 man-hours. A better design would have the main plate sitting on top of the OEM paper tube. FINAL RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS
