Sermon: The Blessing of Wisdom vs. The Ruin of Folly

A Fool Is NOT: 1)Someone with a low IQ. 2)Someone with below average intelligence. 3)Someone without any knowledge.

A Fool Is:  Someone who does not live their life with the proper fear of God and therefore disregards his commands and ways, and lives in whatever way seems right to them.

A Proverb About Folly  A little bit of folly can overcome wisdom.

The Source of Knowing Wisdom or Folly  Our hearts determine whether we are on the road of wisdom or the road of folly.

A Warning of Wisdom  Sometimes a fool will rule the people.

A Great Need Revealed  In order to live wisely, we all must use spiritual discernment.

Wisdom For Our Words  The wise speak words of grace but fools speak words of destruction. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29)

A Final Word of Wisdom About Leadership  Wise leadership is a blessing to its people but foolish leadership brings ruin on the people.

Eugene Peterson Don’t bad mouth your leaders, not even under your breath, and don’t abuse your betters, even in the privacy of your home. Loose talk has a way of getting picked up and spread around. Little birds drop the crumbs of your gossip far and wide.

What About You?  Are you listening to the words of God and doing what he says?  In the eyes of God, are you living wisely or foolishly?  Live your life with the blessing of wisdom not the ruin of folly !
