7. CELDT Overview: The Purpose 1.Initial Identification: to identify new students who are English Learners and determine their level of English proficiency 2.Annual Assessment: to assess all English Learners on their progress in acquiring the English language Assessment Services 7

8. Initial Identification (I.I.) Administered to all newly enrolled (to the district) students in Grades K-12 with a language other than English indicated on their Home Language Survey Must be administered within 30 calendar days of enrollment To determine English proficiency for all new students Administered throughout the year Assessment Services 8

9. Annual Assessment (A.A.)
