My Dashboard Before you get started your dashboard will look similar to this. You will need to update information in My Account and setup a Subscription before you can use the features of Scoutbook.

My Account There are a number of options within your profile. Change your name, address, and phone number Add positions and roles Add training directly from ScoutNet using Setup, modify, and explore subscriptions

My Account Be sure to complete the My Positions and My Training sections. Once you have updated your roles, you will have access to Subscriptions. If you do not have a role updated with your profile, you will get a message that Subscriptions cannot be created.

My Scouting Positions Click Add and complete the form that appears. Be sure to click the “I agree to join the unit leader roster”. Once you have added Pack Admin and other roles you will be able to perform other functions in Scoutbook.

My Training Training can be entered by clicking the ScoutNET Sync button or adding training by hand. Required training will appear based on the roles you have selected in My Scouting Positions. As you add more training, the trained leader dial will increase.

Subscriptions Now that you have a basic profile setup you will need a subscription. Subscriptions vary based on your needs. As Pack Admin, you will be creating a subscription at the Pack Level. There is not a need to purchase Den or Family plans as long as everyone is connected in the Pack.

You will receive a message and updated subscription information. Take note of the number of scouts. Our pack has a subscription for 110 scouts and currently only 66 are connected.

My Calendar Please note this feature is still in Beta so it can be flakey at times. JTE and Advancement Planning options for each event RSVP option to help with head count and planning Permission slips option for youth Automatic email reminders of events (sometimes results in duplicate emails) Event description Place for agenda / minutes (admin only)

Detail of the event Invitees Comments RSVP and attendance are also options depending on the type of event and options selected. PACK level Attendance reports can later be reviewed if the attendance option is used within the calendar.

My Calendar Number one question parents and leaders will ask, Why can’t I see my den? Navigate to the right corner and click the gear, be sure all the calendars have a check next to them and click Set.

Create a new Event When creating an event for the first time, it is important to note the Set option. Click Set to select the value you want for each field.

Create a new Event Once the Calendar has been selected, the invitees populates. Update the Start and End dates. The time options scroll up and down over the numbers Remember ‘Set’ to save your selection

JTE / Advancement Planning Manage Advancement option allows you to note the Planned Advancements at the event Plan for Excellence will help guide you with JTE. Slid the yes/no switches. Red (button right) is YES

RSVP Turning on RSVP puts a ‘?’ by each person invited. This is a great way to get a head count for your event. Parents can log in and select Yes / No / Maybe.

Set Reminders The event can email a reminder to everyone invited. Select how far in advance you want the reminder, click Set. Even if a parent has not logged into scoutbook, he will get an email.

Attendance This option can be tricky at first. You can only take attendance on the day/time or anytime after your event. Open your event and scroll to the bottom of the invitees list. You will be looking for the attendnace button. Click the button. Click on the image of each person who attended. Now click Save. You will now be able to see this events attendance report.

REPORTS My Dashboard

Reports If a scout does not have a check box on a date, check the event he may not have been invited. This is a Pack level report. No Den report at this time. Not everyone has access to mark attendance on events so if this report does not reflect correctly, the pack admin should be able to update.

Reports Needs Approval, Needs Purchasing, and Needs Awarding are great for Advancement Chair. These three reports are generated when a scouts Advancement has been recorded.

My Units From My Dashboard locate the My Units section. This is located under Administration. You will see information about your unit including the number of leaders, scouts, percent of leaders trained, upcoming events, awards, and Dens. At a Glance Pack Roster will generate a den or pack level roster that can be customized with address, phone number, email, parents, dob Pack Forum and Send Message are great ways to communicate with the parents, leaders and scouts. Quick Entry allows rank, awards, service, hiking and camping to be logged quickly to a large group with minimal clicks. Export / Backup allows you to save specific data to your device Edit Pack is the pack specific information and ScoutNET id and password
