3 When is revolution a good idea?
Why do people choose to revolt? What are the risks? In what situations is the outcome worth the risk of revolution? The picture is from the Russian Revolution.

4 What is revolution? Revolution is not always a movement for independence, sometimes the people want to completely change their government. The Mexican Revolution of 1910 is an example of this type of revolution. Both from the Mexican Revolution. I like to use the picture of the women to point out that this is a regular people’s revolution. It is not necessarily the clash of organized armies.

5 Causes of the Mexican Revolution
1. Porfirio Diaz was a dictator for nearly 30 years. Elections were corrupt. Be sure to explain about corrupt elections both in Mexican and in other dictatorships.

2. Few people were allowed to own land. People were treated very badly.

3. There was a wide gap between the rich and the poor. Most of the people were poor with no way of changing their situation.

8 Outcome of the Mexican Revolution
Diaz’s government was successfully overthrown when Diaz fled to France. Fighting continued for many years but, a new government was officially formed after a new Constitution was written in This is the same constitution in place today in Mexico. Venustiano Carranza is the man on the money, he was the president of Mexico when the constitution was written. He appeared on 100 peso bill for a short period of time, but not on the current version.
