Exodus Exodus is the second book of the Law (Pentateuch) written by Moses. – It is a sequel to Genesis, continuing history where Genesis left off. – In Genesis we read of the fall of man, the promise of a Savior, the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel). – God made them a great nation in a promised land. Remember how God preserved them through Joseph in Egypt. – Through the years they multiplied in number, the Egyptians feared they would take over the land and forced them to be slaves.

Exodus Exodus means “a going out”. – It records how Israel was delivered from bondage into the wilderness where they were given the Law and how they were taken up to the promised land. – However, because of unbelief that generation did not enter, but wandered for 40 years. – Exodus shows how this part of history unfolds and gives some valuable lessons for us today.
