Which File Hierarchy View? Task Pane View – Tasks, Files, and Details for the folder are on the left pane of the window Explorer Bar View – list view of all folders in your computer with expandable folders Click on the Folders Button to switch to Explorer Bar View

Expanding a Drive/Folder Point to the plus sign in the small box to the left of the Removable Disk (E:) icon in the Folders pane Click the plus sign

Closing Expanded Folders Click the minus sign to the left of the Computer Class icon

To select a group of files Highlight the first file in a group Hold down the shift key and highlight the last file in a group

To select certain of files Highlight the file to be selected Hold down on control key while selecting files with left mouse button

A window is active when it is open and you are currently using it It will show as depressed and a different shade of color on your task bar If it is inactive, it will look normal Open Program Active Window Inactive Windows

Scroll Arrow Scroll Bar Scroll Bars show when a Window is NOT Maximized

Minimize, Maximize & Close Minimize Button –Reduce a window to the task bar Maximize Button –Expands a window to fill the computer screen Close Button –“X” will exit a Windows Program –Can also exit by clicking “File” then “Exit”
