2 Key Vocabulary Requisite: Required or necessary for a particular purpose, position, etc. Apportioned: To distribute or allocate proportionally; divide and assign according to some rule of proportional distribution. Enumeration: a numbered list Impeachment: a formal document charging a public official with misconduct in office Compensation: something given or received as an equivalent for services, debt, loss, injury, suffering, lack Concurrence: an agreements of results or opinions

3 Text Excerpt “The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State legislature.”

4 Summaries Section 2: in this section the delegates are giving the member of congress (the house of representatives) the rules they must follow in order to be a member. Section 3: In this section the delegates are describing how long each senator will hold their seat. And they are telling them the requirements Section 4: The delegates are giving the time place and manner of holding elections for senators and representatives. Section 6: In this section the delegates are giving congress their powers; like they are allowed to collect taxes.

5 Answering Unit 3 Question This government is ensuring the freedom of all citizens because in this document it is giving the congress its powers and limitations. It is also giving the citizens freedom because the house of representatives and the senators must meet certain requirements. This ensures freedom because the congress is not too powerful. If the congress did have too much power then the citizens would be more like slaves and wouldn’t be able to have the freedoms that we were born with like, the freedom of speech, the freedom of religion, the freedom of press, and the freedom to petition.
