What is the KeyStep Programme? School Based competition structure Enhancing provision and development of the LTAD Based on 3 Steps (yrs 1&2, 3&4 and 5&6) 3 Elements of competition (Body Management, Floor and Vault ) That’s it !

How is a competition run and what is required? Basic sports hall broken into the 3 areas of competition Series of rotations (Based on number of gymnasts and schools) Teams of upto 6 people. 2 Girls and 2 Boys scoring Each station to have 2 judges (e.g. If you were delivering all 3 steps with 1 station each phase = 18 judges) Certificates can be provided to all participants Medals can be awarded to any step for any achievement, where SGO/School budget allows

How is a competition run and what is required? Equipment ; STEP 1 – Bench and Springboard. Safety landing module, Mats. STEP 2 – Box/vault (3stages high). Safety landing module, skipping rope, springboard STEP 3 – Box/vault (4stages high). Safety landing module, skipping rope, springboard Mats – BM = 3-4 Mats Floor = 5-6 Mats in a row or 16 in a sqaure

Support Available Level 1 = School run. Advice available from London staff, Keystep support pack provided. Judging and Inset training provided Level 2 = SGO run. Support from London staff at event (Where time allows) Keystep support pack provided. Judging and Inset training provided Level 3 = NGB run. Judging and Young Leaders British Gymnastics Introductory Judging Qualification £15 per person for resources. Tutored free, one in each Borough. 25 maximum per course Upto a maximum of 28 free in each Proactive on a BOGOF basis Judging sheets available electronically for 1-3 Floor. British Gymnastics Event Officiating £15 per person for resources. Tutored free, one in each Borough.

Inset Training Inset training for school teachers and schools to support in the delivery of gymnastics competition, set up and running of Keystep in schools. Free of charge for tutor and basic resources. (Subject to a venue provided by the school, Theory and/or practical where required)

Other School Rules Letter for Mini Games (Numbers of participants and level of participants) KeyStep packs for schools (DVD’s, Cards, Breakdowns, skills, coaching tips etc.. ) £17.25 Any questions on anything covered for KeyStep?
