2. Hello Class and Instructor Kyger. First off I would like to apologize for my late entry; I had to clear up a few things before I started class. Secondly, I would like to say how excited I am about being here. My names is Apprina Faulkner,

3. I am a forty three single mother of two wonderful children, born and reside in Chicago Illinois. I currently work for Goldman Sachs & Co as a site manager; I have been working here for seven years. Prior to that, I was a manager at Radio Shack for eight years. I love to read (any genre) books and watch movies on my spare down time.

4. MOVING FORWARD My career goal, which I have slowly been working towards throughout my 4 years in college, is to become a Direct Service Counselor. I have currently received my Bachelor degree in psychology in Ashford University and have signed up for my Master for Art of Education. I have taken many pre-requisite classes, as well as several courses specifically designed for elementary education.

5. I begin my journey of learning in a public school, the most vigorous memory I have of school is during my seventh grade. I had the most caring, dedicated teacher; her name was Mrs. Twin. She never judge her children when they misbehaved or got the problem wrong, but encourage and provided inspiration that will last a life time. Mrs. Twin was the reason most student graduated from elementary school. She was the reason I begin to love reading and exploring different worlds through books.

6. Master for Art of Education class will slowly mold me to becoming a great counselor. Also, majoring in Art of Education will enable me to better understand the mentality of special education students, so that in the future I will be able to counsel them to the best of my ability. These courses have given me a lot of background on not only the disorders many children throughout the world are facing today, but also on how children, and their parents tend to view and handle these psychological disorders they are faced with. Being an elementary education and psychology major will help me to drastically improve my teaching abilities, allowed me to have a better concept of what I would most likely be facing in the future when I accomplish my goals, and overall prepared me in almost every way possible to become a great counselor.
