5. How Were These Species Selected? DoD Partners in Flight Steering Committee members each provided their “Top 10” species of concern Federally listed species were excluded All bird species on the USFWS 2010 Candidate Notice of Review list known to occur on DoD lands were included DoD representatives from all regions (Southeast, Northeast, Midwest, West, Alaska, and Hawaii), representing all military service branches, provided the initial input. Installation managers on Oah’u, Kauai, and Hawai’i were queried for Hawaiian priority species.
