Alligators live in fresh water or a mix of salt & freshwater They eat snails, crayfish, shrimp, and crabs also turtles, snakes, ducks, fish and wadding birds They can be found almost halfway up the east coast of the United States

Alligators don’t have bony plates inside of them The alligator’s skin is made up of rectangular scales An alligator’s legs are short and it’s body is long and heavy

Many alligators are killed for their hides or for food and sport that they became scarce A big threat to them is water pollution To save alligators we should create stronger laws

The largest American ever reported was supposedly 19.8 ft (6 m) long, there are doubts about the claim Alligators perfer the water then land Alligators gulp there food down whole
