1. Home life The skill I want to focus on for the topic is reading to ensure that pupils can make the link between the beginning and the end of a phrase. I will first focus on the skills pupils have and show them how much they remember of what they learned last year by using the rooms in the house topic

3. Revision of the rooms in the house Point at each room and get pupils to make a sentence using the structure provided. You should use the Interactive white board for this topic and the spotlight tool to increase interest and challenge. OHT things in the house

4. Reading exercises I have used 2 different exercises to reinforce pupils’ reading skills. The first exercise, aimed at strengthening pupils’ confidence in their abilities in languages by being very similar to the OHT hence the challenge was minimal for the first exercise. Match up exercise

5. The second exercise aims at reinforcing the skills pupils have in their memorisation of the words using the categorisation. This exercise is better done on the IWB as pupils can drag and drop the objects in the correct rooms Categorisation exercise

16. This exercise aims again at reinforcing the reading skills for pupils, which is very important. They need to know that they can understand a piece of writing and they need to get given the tools to do so. By starting with a less challenging exercise, I have reinforced their confidence in their ability and can now build up on it before they do the mock Match up exercise
