Biodiversity Hotspots Biodiversity hotspots are undergoing habitat destruction or loss in some way or another. Biodiversity hotspots also are areas where a large number of endemic species live. – Endemic species are those species that are unique to an area.

Biodiversity Hotspots Choose a partner to work with. Study the “Biodiversity Hotspots” shown on pp. 420- 421. Imagine you have a pack of $$$$ to support one of these regions. Which one would you focus on? – In your lab notebook, describe the region you think is most deserving of your support. Give 3 SPECIFIC reasons why. (use DATA to support your selection!) – Next describe the hotspot that is least deserving of your support. Give 3 SPECIFIC reasons why. (use DATA to support your decision!) – Be prepared to share your decision. – YOU HAVE 15 MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE TASK!!
