Past Indefinite Tense Look at the pictures and say about them. He was a good student. He had a pen. He did it He went to school. Was, had, did, went are verbs. Past Indifinite Tense is the form of verb which indicates the time of action that was done in the past.

Past Continuous Tense indicates the time of action that was going on in the past. Structure: Subject+ was/were+ present form of verb+ ing+ object/adverbial. Past Perfect Tense indicates the time of action that was completed before another past action. Structure Example: We had finished the work before the sun set.
