6 Vocabulary Excel: Spreadsheet program used to calculate, analyze, and visually represent numerical data Workbook: An Excel file is called a workbook Worksheet: (spreadsheet, or sheet) Grid with columns and rows where you enter and summarize data Columns: (16,384) displayed vertically, labeled with alphabets Rows: (1,048,576) displayed horizontally, labeled with numbers

7 Vocabulary Cell: intersection of column and rows Cell Reference: identification of cells by column and row: Example A1 Active Cell: selected cell Name box: displays the cell reference of the active cell Formula Bar: displays the value or formula of the active cell Labels: Words, characters, symbols Values: numbers, dates, time Formulas: mathematical Calculations
