Establishing a GBSLEP Smart Board

Aim of Smart Board Ensure wider involvement, ownership and impact of the smart cities and digital agenda at a regional level Drive and influence GBSLEP strategy in developing smarter approaches to how region tackles growth – underpinned by Smart Principles Enable greater alignment between supporting local service priorities and regional priorities to address Skills & employment; business growth capabilities (LA; LEP) Carbon reduction (supporting Green Commission) Intelligent Mobility (connecting to the work of the ITA) Independent living (supporting LA outcomes) Use assets of the region in a more connected way to tackle local and regional challenges Promote greater coordinated investment in use of disruptive technologies and infrastructure through a user & demand led approach Stimulate business growth & capabilities in use of data and technologies to support development of new applications and services

Core Executive Board (8 members / bimonthly meetings) Act as critical friend to bring strategic influence and oversight of Roadmap delivery and its future development Support greater transparency and engagement - connecting to people; potential projects; future priorities Provide advice and guidance Smart Board (max 25 members / quarterly meetings) Representative of other groups and bodies that are working to enhance smart capabilities (strong advocates of principles of smart) Positioned to influence areas of growth, procurement, regeneration and place Strengthened membership – ITA and mobility sectors; utility; academia and FE, health, citizen engagers; community reps; social entrepreneurs, industry reps
