The potential of Indonesia as a medical device target market becomes more enormous as early in this year the new Social Security Organizing Body (Badan Pelaksana Jaminan Sosial, BPJS) started to operate. BPJS, which came into being in accordance with the Acts No. 40/2004 on National Social Security System (SJSN) and No. 24/2011 on Social Security Agency (BPJS), will provide public healthcare coverage to tens of millions of low- income Indonesians who could otherwise not afford.
