What is Pastime? *An interest or activity that somebody pursues in his or her spare time. *something that serves to make time pass agreeably. *a pleasant means of amusement, recreation, or sport. Synonyms entertainment, hobby, diversion, avocation.

Now read the text from EFT & answer the following questions: Q: Who give emphasis on the unity of the family? Ans: The Chinese. Q: What sports are popular with men in Japan? Ans: Baseball, golf and the martial arts. Q: Do the Canadian people love to go fishing in winter? Ans: No, In summer only. Q: Where do the Canadian people go for hiking? Ans: In the mountain or in the countryside. Q: How long did the Germans use to work earlier? Ans: Ten hours a day, six days a week. Q: Where do the German youths go for physical exercise? Ans: To sports centre. Q: Why have almost half of German adults made trips outside the country? Ans: Just for pleasure and relaxation. Q: What activity is common to all people of the world? Ans: Watching television.
