2. HIs Life:
Born on September 13, 1916 in Llandaff, South Wales in Great Britain.
He went to several private schools as a boy but graduated from Repton.
After graduating he travelled around the world.
He married actress Patricia Neal in 1953.
His first stories were not for children but for adults.
He died on November 23, 1990

3. Some Interesting Facts:
Roald was a Royal Air Force pilot and served in World War II
He wrote 19 children's books
He wrote his first children's story for Walt Disney, it was called “The Gremlins” which was not very successful
