2. The subject I have chosen to do my fanzine website on is the British rock band Queen. They have an official website named queenonline.com. The site is regularly updated with the bands current news and new merchandise. Why this subject? What is its purpose/its goal? What will it offer? To create some of the elements of the website I will need to do some independent learning. I will watch YouTube tutorials and read articles online to learn new skills which I can use then to make my website even better. INTRODUCTION

TARGET AUDIENCE As the band originated in 1970, the majority of the audience is an older one, but the band is still relevant, and two band members, (Brian May and Roger Taylor) still tour under the name of Queen. This is where the website needs to appeal to multiple generations, the ones that grew up with Queen and also the ones that have just discovered it. This means that the target audience could realistically be anyone. But to put a realistic age group on it, I could see anyone from the ages of 12-60 being the target audience. This means the website needs to be user friendly. I needs to be easy to understand and use. I believe fans will expect a clean and almost classy looking website. The website would look completely different if the band where in there prime but I believe this design and the features used are fitting. I think Queen fans will expect a professional site, with a clean and comfortable interface. They want a website which is user friendly and does the band justice. The site would need plenty of content such as music videos, pictures and detailed information about the band. Queen fans would also probably like Meat Loaf, The Who and Genesis. They enjoy socialising with friends and family and enjoy watching and listening to live music.

NAVIGATION METHODS Like the puma website, my website will feature a drop down menu just below the header (Horizontal Navigation) I will also use a show hide, you can click on an image and then the information will appear beside it, (this will be good for the discography). Other forms of navigation I won’t use include: Vertical navigation, Breadcrumb navigation, Search navigation, Tabbed navigation and Guided navigation etc. News - News I will also use text links from the list of music videos to access them.
