Close Up https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example&biw=1366& bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2BQK HbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#imgrc=BZJZRancjZl5kM%3A This type of shot is specifically used to capture a persons emotions, as it shows a much more detailed shot of the subject. This kind of shot is characterised by the fact that it is taken from the top of a persons head to their chin, neck or upper chest.

Extreme close up https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example& biw=1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEw icray7xOXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=ex treme+close+up+photo+example&imgrc=N9_qV_QDnlu20M%3A A shot commonly used to bring a sense of appreciation to a subject as it focuses on extreme detail. This is a type of shot often used in films and is a way for the person taking the shot to build up tension in the scene.

High angle shot https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+exampl e&biw=1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0a hUKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm= isch&q=high+angle+shot+photo+example&imgrc=V9NBxLZa7k pPBM%3A A high angled shot can be used to depict a subject as smaller, weaker or less important.

Low angle shot https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example&biw=1366&bih=616& source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB &dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=low+angle+shot+photo+example&imgdii=- 5EjO0AaG9iCaM%3A%3B-5EjO0AaG9iCaM%3A%3BdYRcNDbAIk08PM%3A&imgrc=- 5EjO0AaG9iCaM%3A A low angled shot is characterised as anywhere below the eye line, looking up. As apposed to the high angled shot this angle brings a perceived feeling of height, dominance and importance to the subject.

Tilted frame https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example&biw=1366 &bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2B QKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=tilted+frame+photo+example& imgrc=6O67HDWiwZ-mzM%3A A tilted frame also called a ‘Dutch frame’ is captured when the camera is set at angle on its roll axis. This type of shot can be used to add more drama to a shot.

Over the shoulder shot. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+exa mple&biw=1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&v ed=0ahUKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr =1#tbm=isch&q=over+the+shoulder+photo+example&imgrc =DDOFakOhW8-QNM%3A This type of shot is very common in films and television programs and is often used in scenes where two characters are having a conversation. This type of shot creates a third person effect as this unique perspective causes views to perceive that they are looking over someone’s shoulder.

Medium close up https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example&biw=1366&b ih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2BQKH brmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=medium+close+up+photo+example&i mgrc=qDky4RE9sw056M%3A As apposed to just a close up shot which often just includes the head the Medium close up is a shot that includes the top of the head to the lower chest of the subject.

Medium https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example &biw=1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUK Ewicray7xOXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q =medium++photo+example&imgrc=GcknlkBfRak6qM%3A A medium shot is taken from the waist up giving us not only a better view of the subjects body language as well as the facial expressions but also allows more of the background to be seen.

Two people shot https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example&biw= 1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicray7xO XJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=two+person+sh ot+photo+example&imgrc=1CE0V-s8VRJfWM%3A This type of shot provide a clear view of two different subjects and is a technique often used in film or in television show when characters are talking.

Extra long shot https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+example&biw =1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwicray7x OXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=isch&q=extra+long+s hot+photo+example&imgrc=TD61AEIQ9jBMHM%3A This type of used to show the background. Although in some cases it may incorporate a character in frame, the main subject will still be the background and the character will be barely visible if at all.

Long shot https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=close+up+photo+exampl e&biw=1366&bih=616&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ah UKEwicray7xOXJAhWB2BQKHbrmBsYQ_AUIBigB&dpr=1#tbm=is ch&q=long+shot+photo+example&imgrc=Tp57lm7gTIYWbM%3A Like in the extreme long shot in this shot the background is still the main focus. Although characters may be seem they are not the main focus. This shot is however a good technique to incorporate both the background and the characters together into one piece.
