What will I learn Sentence Structures How to improve your ASL gloss Food, Family and Money vocabulary How to give commands and follow directions

Why learn that? Telling about your family is a key culture concept when meeting Deaf people. ASL is different than English. Knowing more about ASL helps make you a fluent signer.

What will I be expected to do? Participate in class activities –I will work during class to learn new vocabulary and understand new concepts. Homework Reading/Response –I will read about a girl who was forced to stop depending on her hearing and start depending on the visual cues around her. Projects –I will participate in two projects that show my skills related to ASL sentence structure, glossing, and vocabulary. Family Tree Project How-to Cook Project Test –I will show my knowledge of ASL sentence structure and current vocabulary in a test style format.
