Goulburn Men's Hockey Association 14 Umpire Instructions (2) Meet Co Umpire on the field at Half and Full time Verbalise instructions and warnings on the run, during the game Issue cards if required expediently, showing player number, and suspension duration to the Duty Officer. Give player Reason for suspension. Goulburn Men's Hockey Association 15 Suspension Penalty Definitions 2010 Dissention/Abuse - DA –Persistent or Derogatory actions towards, Players, Spectators or Officials: Includes repetitive questioning, verbal abuse, aggressive gestures via body language or attitude Misconduct – MC –Time wasting, Persistent breaches in retreating from free hit, Interference with other player’s equipment, i.e., throwing another players stick. Intimidatory action designed to upset players. Dangerous Play –DP –Swinging wildly within a group of players, over physical play, striking stick around the hands, uncontrolled tackle from behind that brings down a player, Persistent striking into the legs/feet of players in the guise of quick play of free hit. Goulburn Men's Hockey Association 16 Professional Foul – PF –Breach of rules that is aimed to break down play, ie shielding quick free hits, clearing ball away to avoid quick hit, persistent breaking at short corners, Deliberate body use. Playing the ball above the shoulders to break down overhead pass. Other – O –Offences that are not in the interest of GMHA; racial vilification, striking ball into spectators, Verbal threats.
