2. How much information ? If you put too much information into a Powerpoint presentation it will be very difficult for your audience to take in. Your presentation should NOT have lots of information on the screen which you read out. This is really boring! Your aim is to engage your audience with short, interesting, points and then to expand on them in your speech. Have notes to hand to help you. Write one bullet point for each aspect you intend to talk about. This is a bit like chapters, with each chapter having sub- sections. Whatever you do, DON’T JUST READ FROM THE SCREEN

6. Using Pictures & Effects Use pictures which relate to your subject! Make sure graphics enter at the right time Make sure your background pictures do not obscure the information Ensure your effects are consistent Ensure sound is not too loud to hear your voice

Presentation Have your presentation on a memory stick as well as the network Do not stand in front of the screen or block the beam from the projector Have notes to help you but don’t just read them - know what you are going to say Wait until your audience is looking at you before you start – and stand still!
