4. So where are you going in mission and ministry? This is why we do the mission study – to understand what God is calling you to, in the next stage of the journey. Knowing where you’re going then helps you know what ministry you need, to help you get there.

5. In our Presbytery, you have a choice! A.Conventional ministry OR B.Regeneration ministry

6. Conventional Ministry Ministry emphasis is: Worship and pastoral care Secondary focus: supporting mission, teaching – and a variety of other things.)

7. Regeneration Ministry Ministry emphasis is: Growing a missional Church. Secondary emphasis: Worship and pastoral care (and other tasks)

8. Ministry priorities (generalisation) Conventional Ministry (Focus: Worship and pastoral care) Preach to and teach the congregation about discipleship in daily life Support and nurture the congregation and its activities Minister does most of the worship and pastoral care Regeneration Ministry (Focus: Growing a missional Church) Preach to and teach the congregation about God’s mission, and missional discipleship Build the congregation and develop new mission initiatives or new forms of church Minister and congregation share responsibility for worship and pastoral care

9. All ministries are of equal value. But they are all different. It isn’t ‘better’ to have a regeneration minister, or a traditional minister. It just depends on what kind of leadership you need.
