Matthew 6:33

No one in the world is worry-free. But Jesus tells us not to worry. How can you live without worries? I hope you can find the answer through this sermon.

Do Not Worry, Do Your Best. Out of worries, 92% is useless, small worries. Only 8% might happen to you, but this 8% is natural and there is no way to stop them from happening. Jesus gave the answer through the Sermon on the Mount.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Amen.

This message doesn’t mean to not worry and live happily. How can we live without worries? The meaning of “worries” in Greek is “divide”. That is to say that worries divide your thinking and your mind. Have you ever gotten a traffic ticket while driving with worries? When you worry, you cannot entirely focus on your interest.

Harvard student fakes bomb threat to get out of exam! The bomb scare that evacuated several Harvard buildings on Monday(12/16/2013) and drew national attention turned out, according to an FBI affidavit, to be the work of a sophomore trying to avoid a final exam. According to the FBI affidavit, the suspect, Eldo Kim, “stated that he was in Emerson Hall at 9:00 a.m. when the fire alarm sounded and the building was evacuated. According to Kim, upon hearing the alarm, he knew that his plan had worked.” Eldo Kim REALLY didn't want to take his finals, so he did the reasonable thing and called in a bomb threat to Harvard campus police.

Jesus doesn’t want us to live carefree lives. If you live carefree, then you make those around you worry. What was the meaning of Jesus’ sermon?

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Amen.

Jesus means that we should not be birds on a tree living without worries. What Jesus tells us about is the bird of the air. Have you ever flown with wings? It is impossible for a human. In order to fly, it requires lots of power. The birds of the air mean the birds which do their best in their situation. We should try our best in our lives.

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Amen.

The lilies of the field are not the lilies that live in the house comfortably. The lilies of the field are the lilies that fight against strong winds and survive snow. The lilies of the field are the lilies that do their best in their situation. We should try our best in our situation too. When we die and stand in front of God, God will not ask how successful your life was, but how hard you worked. I hope you cannot worry and try to live your best.

Don’t Worry, Keep Praying. Courage is fear that has said its prayers. - Dorothy Bernard This means that you receive courage when praying. Worrying isn’t good for your health.

So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?‘ Amen.

This is a story when I worked in a company. There were lots of restaurants near my office. Choosing where to eat at lunch was quite joyful. After a while, there were no new restaurants. The new worry was “What should we eat today?”. Suddenly, God’s Word came into my mind. “Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’”. What we eat is not important, our relationship with God is more important.

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Amen.

Jesus said that pagans worry about food. If we believe in God, we should just live hard, not worry about our living. If you believe in God, instead of worrying, you should keep praying. God knows what our needs are, so we should pray to get them from God.

Cha In-pyo He is a South Korean actor. One of the most admirable Korean celebrity couples, Cha In-Pyo and his wife, Shin Aera sponsor 50 children around the world through a Christian organization called 'Compassion.' Just donating a few dollars a month can make a huge difference in a child's life living in Third World countries, so, please help make this world a better place to live by sharing what you can afford with kids who desperately need your help. On a TV show, Healing Camp, he said that he has a great mentor, Rev. Jungha Kim. He said that the pastor changed his life.

Rev. Jungha Kim, Shalom Church Rev. Kim is a Korean Pastor in Korea. Kim has Lou Gehrig’s disease. The disease is breaking down his nervous tissue and it is incurable. He has lost most of the movement in his limbs. He was a pastor of very small church with only twenty members. He was already cash- strapped sending out over 700 dollars a month for the two children. There was no way he would be able to sponsor five more. After that night, he prayed to God for insight on how to come up with the means to support those five children. He thought about delivering milk, but that would interfere with his morning prayer and duties as a pastor.

He thought about collecting and selling waste paper but that would take income away from elders in the neighborhood. Finally, God spoke to him, “You were good at shining shoes while you were in the Army and you still have a strong right arm.” Rev. Jungha Kim polishes shoes to sponsor children. He said “I believe that many will come to know God through my illness. I pray that God’s love can spread out all over the world, and my heart is full.” Everybody around the pastor worried about the pastor’s health and wealth, but the pastor didn’t worry at all because he believed in God. That is the faith.

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. Amen.

When you believe in God, we do not worry anymore, but we pray. I hope you can pray instead of worrying.

God is Our Top Priority.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Amen.

I think that the most important word in this passage is “first”. God should be our top priority, but every time we tend to set a different priority. We think that our work is first and that God’s work is after. We look for God to be successful in our life. We should remember that God’s work is our top priority. In your daily life, God should be top priority.

Satan tells us that there are more important things than God. There is nothing more important than worship. Do not change the priority. God is the most important thing in our life. What do you struggle by in your life? Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. I hope you can set God to our top priority.
