Side Note: Quebec Act: 1774 Extended boundaries of French Canada Granted Canadians right to practice Catholicism With the Québec Act, Britain created a centralized colonial government for Canada and extended that colony’s administrative control south west to the Ohio River, invalidating the sea-to-sea boundaries of many colonial charters.
