7
Organizing your Notebook: Your assigned notebook is already set up with sections: Career Prep Info, Reports, 1 st /4 th Six Weeks, 2 nd /5 th Six Weeks, & 3 rd /6 th Six Weeks. The notebook is to remain in the class room on the shelf. The Career Prep Info is NOT to be written on or removed from your notebook. It is a reference for you to refer back to during the year.
8
Organizing your Notebook (cont.) : The reports section is where you keep your work place training plan, code of ethics, 6 weeks report, semester report & leadership sheet. Keep all graded papers in your notebook in the proper six weeks section. Keep your class procedures in the back of your folder. Save tests to study for semester exam.

Do I Need a Book?: Check the agenda on the board as you enter the room. If the word “BOOK” is in the upper right-hand corner, please get the textbook from the book shelf. At the end of the period, please return your book to the proper area of the shelf. Take a neighbor’s book if they are finished with their assignment.
10
Going to the Restroom: Use the restroom before coming to class. It’s right down the hall. Try to refrain from using class time to do this. (I will not allow habitual wanderers to leave the room!) You must be wearing your ID to leave the classroom.
11
Getting a Drink of Water: Get a drink before class from the water fountain down the hall by the restrooms. Bottled water or drinks with lids are allowed in class. No drinks or food allowed around the laptops!
12
Questions?: Check your procedures first Ask a classmate near you using your quiet voice Raise your hand for my attention
13
Headings on Papers: Write your complete name, class name and period. Jonathan Smith Career Prep, 2 nd Grades will be reduced for papers without a heading.
14
Turning in Papers: Bring completed assignments to the tray on the teacher’s desk. Do not share completed work with other students! There is very little transfer of knowledge when copying another student’s work and it is also unethical.
15
Make-up Work: Ask a neighbor what you missed from class. Check with me for worksheets. I keep them in a file at my desk. Make-up work is the student’s responsibility and is due the following class period. Late work will lose points.
16
Recycling: Place clean, flat paper in green recycling bin No trash or paper food containers please – We have trash cans for those items
17
Working in Groups: You are responsible for your own work and behavior. You must ask each Support Buddy for help if you have a question. You must be willing to help any Support Buddy who asks for help. You may ask for help from the teacher only when the group has reached consensus with the same question.
