Many people like the flexibility of digital images. For example: They can be shared by attaching to email/uploading to Internet Sent via mobiles Edited Saved onto different media Organised onto albums/displays Printed Many cameras have video capability

Images stored on ‘flash’ memory cards, this means memory that can be written to and erased over and over Memory can be directly downloaded to computer and saved onto other media for back up for example Output device – screen on camera others include: Computer screen, printer, TV, mobile phone screen, digital photo frame

Images are made up of millions of ‘dots’ or ‘Pixels’ Resolution is the number of pixels in a given area A pixel is the smallest amount of information that can be displayed on a screen, each pixel can have its own colour The greater the number of pixels the higher the resolution. More expensive cameras have higher resolution and the quality will be better but it takes up more space Pixels usually measured in ‘Megapixels’ 1 MP = @1 million Pixels
