The habitats are: The Mountain Region The Piedmont Region The Coastal Plains Region The Atlantic Ocean The Okefenokee Swamp

The MOUNTAIN Region Located in the very north part of Georgia
This region has mountains and valleys There are many waterfalls and hiking trails in this area. The Appalachian Trail is a hiking trail that runs all the way from the state of Maine to Georgia. Georgia’s highest mountain is located in this region. Its name is Brasstown bald.

The PIEDMONT Region Located in the middle part of Georgia.
The land in this region is made up of rolling hills and small isolated mountains. The capital of Georgia is located in this region. Georgia’s largest river, the Chattahoochee, flows through this region.

The COASTAL PLAINS Region
The coastal plains region is located in the lower half of Georgia The land in this region is low & flat. In pre-historic times this region was completely covered by an ocean. Hot, humid summers and mild winters
