5. Grade Suppression Beginning the Fall of 2015, students may “suppress” a failing grade if they take the exact course over again. Example: Biology Honors=55 Retake Biology Honors=75 Not Biology Honors=55 Biology=75 Original failing grade removed from transcript.

6. Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) CDM offers students the opportunity to accelerate their learning by earning credit through demonstrating mastery of course content, without being required to complete classroom instruction for a certain amount of seat time. Students who wish to pursue CDM will need to show mastery of course content by completing two phases. ● In phase I, students must complete an exam of course content. ●In phase II, students must create a product/performance that exhibits a deeper understanding and application of course content.

7. CDM Exceptions The following courses are excluded from CDM: Career and Technical Education (CTE) a.work-based learning courses (co-op, internship, apprenticeship) b.courses that have a clinical setting as a requirement of the course, such as Early Childhood Education I & II, and Nursing Fundamentals c.Advanced Studies courses or any course without state technical standards English Language Learner (ELL) courses Healthful Living required courses AP/IB courses

15. DOMICILE--Policy 4120 ❏ A permanent & established home, as distinguished from a temporary place of residence. Merely owning or renting “property” doesn’t establish legal domicile. A student’s domicile is based on parent’s domicile ❏ Proof: Deeds, lease, property taxes, vehicle registration, utility bill for home ❏ Exceptions: Homeless or student not living with parent (court ordered legal custodian), Foster Home, Exceptional Children program placement. ❏ Divorced or Separated Parent--custody order will be followed; without an order, parents must agree on one domicile. Other Information ❏ Transportation is the responsibility of parent/guardian. ❏ There will be a wait list that will remain active until the first day of school. ❏ Parents will have 3 days to respond to a wait list notification Lists are purged after the first day and will not be used for future requests.

21. Notification of Approval Families will be notified on or before APRIL 1ST, 2016

Revocation of Approval ❏ The Superintendent may revoke an approval and return a student if: ❏ Student has issues of excessive tardies or absences ❏ Persistent, inappropriate behaviors arise following the approval of transfer ❏ Determination that the transfer approval was based on false information ❏ Failure to participate in School Choice or Calendar program
