2 Warm Up Come in and complete the formative for words 6-10 Then make sure that all of you sentences are complete for the current set of words Read your Book Club book silently when finished

4 Active Reading Active reading is where you engage with the text. Active Readers  Take notes  Ask questions  Make inferences  Draw connections  Reread confusing passages or sections

5 Wonder As I read Wonder it is your job to be actively “reading” along with me When you hear something that makes you think, pause, question, or wonder tell me to stop We will then put a sticky note on that page

6 Introduce Book Review This is not something that you need to be working on now You should be thinking about the requirements as you read The rubric is on the back of the assignment sheet Please make sure this is in the READING section of your binder

7 Silent Reading This is your time to silent read When there is about 12minutes left in class I will ask you to stop and complete another Journal Check-In

8 Closure: Journal Check In Complete another Book Club Journal Check-In Remember please title this entry Journal Entry 1B, then the title of the prompt you are answering If you have time when you finish look back at your last entry and make any changes that I may have suggested Remember to UNDERLINE the title of your book
