Key Assessments Key assessment data are used for program evaluation and accreditation. Students may or may not see key assessments. Key Assessments may or may not be tied to grades. If a rubric is attached, it is critically important to complete all sections of the rubric, even if the assignment also has a grade. Read the criteria in each rubric carefully; do not select the highest level just because it is a good student.

Intern Keys (TAPS) (midpoint and endpoint)midpoint Assessment is based on Teacher Keys (TKES) assessment. Complete the rubric for each student. Do not give a numerical grade. Students will not get a grade for this assessment, but they will see the scores and feedback. We want them to become familiar with the TAPS assessment that will be used to assess in-service teachers. You may add comments directly on the rubric for feedback. Read the information in each rubric carefully. Level IV is not appropriate for pre-service teachers. Do not assign this level to teacher candidates. Please assign a Level II or even a I if you think the intern is not yet at the level of Proficient (Level III). (Very few candidates will be at level III during Practicum I).
7
Dispositions (midpoint and endpoint)midpoint Data are used at the unit level for program accreditation. Not the same assessment as the Professional Behavior and Dispositions. Students will not see the assessment. You do not need to add comments for feedback. Do not assign a numerical grade.

Send for Review Candidates can send their portfolio to you for review without submitting as an assignment. Review feature will be used during student teaching semester (Fall or spring) See instructions on handout. Return to slide 7.slide 7

edTPA – end of program (student teaching only) Students and supervisors can use the Send for Review feature in LiveText to provide feedback prior to submission. Return portfolio to candidates if it does not follow criteria in Evidence Chart for the handbook. You can do this as many times as you think are reasonable.Send for Review Follow “Guidelines for Acceptable Support” (see handout). When you are ready to assess the portfolio, use Local Evaluation rubrics (3- point). Score portfolios only one time. Grade will be based on completion – 10 points for each task – full credit for task if turned in on time and meets the criteria in the Evidence Chart. However, points may be deducted from overall assignment if portfolio is exceptionally poor. Students will see the assessment. You have already provided feedback, so you do not need to add additional comments or feedback. Approximately 1/3 of portfolios will be sent for official scoring in Spring 2015 (see next slide).
