12 Draw people’s attention to the global warming. Raise people’s awareness of the global warming. Make people concentrate on/ focus on global warming.

13 It contributes to save energy. It can’t be anything but a show. Not only does it make no difference, but also it can bring inconvenience to people’s life, study and work. It cause a lot of inconvenience to people’s life, study and work. It’s just a show which won’t be meaningful.

14 It is up to us to take action. It is high time we should take action /took action. Only by working together can we keep the Earth from being polluted/ damaged.

15 Last week our class had a heated discussion on Earth Hour. The attitudes towards this vary from person to person. There are 60% of the students in favor of it. The reasons why they agree are as follows. First, it is a good way to attract people’s attention on climate change. Second, energy is to human what water is to fish. So we can’t emphasize the importance of saving energy too much. Last but not the least, it needs the whole world’s hardwork,which plays an important role in protecting the Earth. However the rest of the students hold the opposite opinions. On the one hand, it seems like a show. We can’t expect it will make a great contribution on saving energy. On the other hand, there’s no denying that people’s life, study as well as work will suffer lots of inconvenience.

16 As far as I am concerned, it is never too late to take part in the Earth Hour. As the saying goes, “ where there is a will, is a way.” I am sure the more devotion we make, the beautiful the world will be.

17 As the saying goes, “ each coin has two sides.” 60% of the students hold a positive view on this activity while others not. Those students who agree with it insist that the activity not only helps improve the awareness of environmental protection and focus on global warming but makes for saving energy. Besides, small action makes difference. Only all of us give a helping hand can we keep the Earth from being damaged. On the other hand, some students regard it as a show, which makes no contribution to Earth and results in a lot of bad effects on people’s daily life, study and work. in my opinion, the activity provides us with an access to do soemthing for Earth and that’s what it really matters.

As we all know, global warming is a big problem in the world. Earth Hour can rasie people’s awareness of global warming. Besides, turning off lights for an hour is enery-saving. Only by working together can we make our earth a better place to live in. However, about 40% of the students say this activity is not very meaningful. They think it is only a show and it doesn’t make much difference. What’s more, turning off lights for an hour may cause inconvenience to people’s life, work and study. In my opinion, this activity is of great importance. But one activity alone is not enough if we want to save energy and protect our earth. Let’s act through our day-to –dat habits.

19 NOTICE The English Club is looking for some volunteers to help organize and host some activities during the summer vacation. The candidates shall speak fluent English with good pronunciation. Good communication skill, leadership and organization skills are required. Besides, we like the candidates who are open, easy going, and have a sense of humor with teamwork spirits. And candidates with experience will be preferred. Applicants can apply at our school English Club and the registration period is from May 18th to May 20th. All the candidates will be interviewed in turn in the Meeting Room on the evening of May 20th. Good preparation will be a great help to you in the coming interview.
