A Quick Introduction to Excel Excel allows users to take large amounts of data and extract information from it. Excel uses charts and graphs to display information.

Cell Addressing Each cell in Excel has a unique letter number combination. Columns are determined by letters. Rows are given numeric values. An Active Cell will have a bold border around it. The Active Cell in the picture to the right is cell C11.

Formatting Excel allows uses to format text in a variety of ways Currency Percentage Date Numeric

Importing Files Types Excel can accept data in variety of formats including XML CSV Access Database Query Files Lotus 1-2-3 This will be important in future applications of this process

Exporting File Types Excel is not limited to saving in a proprietary Microsoft format. This is helpful when sharing information with others. Some of the formats include... XML Db 1-4 CSV HTML TXT And more
