Reading Journals-Section 3 Book Jacket Template Title Author Illustration (scene [setting] from the book -original art Back Flap Front Flap Back CoverFront Cover Picture of Author Provide some interesting information about the author of the book and the title of at least one additional book written by the author. (not from the original book jacket.) Write something to attract attention: "Do environments change over time?“ or “Imagine a species that...” Write a summary that is two to three paragraphs; is written in your own words; is not copied and discusses the main events and characters. Take your time and do not give away the ending/ resolution of the book. Publisher Name and Logo 1 1/2” Title Author 3” Project is 10 “ by 18” (use 12” by 18” construction paper or similar and cut down to size.) Measure each section carefully so there is enough space for each section. Fold along lines after completed. Staple rubric to the back. Name and class period on back. 5 1/4” Begin with a interesting quote from the book. Then include two/three reviews (opinions) of the book and each review gives an opinion for a different aspect of the book. Review must include the name of a famous magazine, book critic, or an organization that reviews books. Circled items are missing or incorrect on project. Only the author's picture may be printed from the internet. Use ink or fine line marker for writing. Coloring is neat and appropriate. Neatly glued. No cut and paste from the internet. General-Paper is the correct size, 9 1/2" x 18". Paper is folded correctly. Rubric is stapled to the back of project, face up.
