CLC in Luxembourg 2010 Eurolinks‘ meeting Budapest 2010
2
CLC in Luxembourg at the moment: 60 members 10 regular groups probably 1 starters’ group taking off November 2010 small country, small community
3
What are our current concerns? sharing the treasure of Ignatian spirituality within CLC within the Church our hope: beyond the Church: Ignatian spirituality as a spiritual way for people who feel alienated by the established state Church in Lux. and its practices networking (with Ignatian family, diocese: e.g. marriage preparation) preparing elections of national ExCo (February 2011) GIM (groupe ignatien de migration; joint venture with Jesuits): hosting the 5th European encounter on forced migration (Luxembourg, 27th to 31st January, 2011) publicity: “recruiting” new members (information sessions) simple lifestyle (theme of 2009/2010) tackling the issue of different levels of commitment to CLC
4
. Project/concern we would like to share with European CLC: noticeable discrepancies between different “speeds”, different degrees of commitment to the CLC way of life discrepancies between groups (“turbo-groups” groups of friends) discrepancies within groups (highly keen members reluctant members)
5
How do these discrepancies manifest themselves? different levels of awareness of national and international CLC life different degrees of willingness to take part in national and international CLC life (e.g. elections) different degrees of willingness to do retreats or exercises under various forms (addiction total refusal)
6
Effects of these discrepancies : how elastic is the notion of “apostolic body”? do we share a common, basic language/jargon: f.ex. do all members know what DSSE is? some members feel constantly pushed to do things they do not want to do, others are constantly hampered in their spiritual growth frustration
7
What we, as ExCo, slowly realised: the crucial role of the couple “group co- ordinator/group guide”, the “tandem” for the functioning of every group if the tandem is not functioning well (for whatever reasons), the group and its individual members will have difficulties in growing as human beings and spiritually the liberating effects of clear decisions
8
In practice: 2 meetings of co-ordinators and guides on the subject of the “tandem” yearly meeting of the group guides under the direction of our brave EA: this autumn addressing the sensitive question of the change of the group guide visit of all the groups by two members of the ExCo (evening animated by the ExCo and revolving around questions on CLC identity) ExCo asking groups/individual members to take a clear decision concerning their commitment
9
What we can share with you concretely : outlines of 2 co-ordinator&group guide sessions on the role of the “tandem” (in French) outline of 1 local group session on commitment to CLC/CLC identity (in English and French) (*) article by Guy Schuller (president ) & Rita Dobbelstein on the roles of member, group guide and co-ordinator (*) based on the publication “Petit guide du responsable de communauté locale”, version nov. 2005,at www.cvxfrance.com, rubrique formation/responsable) MERCI BEAUCOUP www.cvxfrance.com

What do we need from the wider community with regard to this project? Any ideas are welcome!!
