EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY My philosophy is to maintain a safe, healthy, age appropriate, interaction, learning environment within the 21 st Century for 3-5 year olds; by working in collaboration with my co-workers, parents, and the surrounding community.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT Managing a classroom requires a teacher to be prepared, to be proactive, to build a rapport and communicate with the child’s parents on a constant bases. Also, engaging the students in learning, encouraging them to participate in all areas, and to ensure that each student are adhering to all classroom expectations is an example of having a well managed classroom.

SCHOOL MODELS Using the Mastery Level Model will be more beneficial for pre-school children. This model is simply saying that all children can learn but they learn at their own pace. Therefore, whenever a child masters a level of proficiency, the teacher can individualized that child and plan to instruct a new assignment on a higher level. Regardless if the child learns fast or slow, the learning will be based on the pace of the individual child.

THE ROLE OF THE STUDENT The student’s role is to be apart of the decision making, as it pertains to them within the classroom. The students will be able to make choices that will be within the realm of learning. The students will be an active participant in the classroom by taking lead with activities and by creating classroom expectations (rules) which they will be held accountable for their decision making. The main goal for the role of the student is to allow them to develop a sense of ownership.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY Building a Professional Learning Community (PLC) is a dream that I plan to implement into reality. As a teacher within your program, it is my goal to develop a strong fellowship amongst my fellow co-workers by providing my assistance whenever needed. While assisting with my colleagues, I will introduce to them the value of working together and collaborating ideas. By working together we will accomplish the main important piece in our program and that is to develop and to equip our students to be school ready and beyond. Once all are on board with PLC, I would discuss these matters with my direct supervisor and request that PLC meet at least once a week to share their creative ideas, their classroom management skills, and tools that were used to better their teaching skills.

Observation When a person enters into my classroom, they will see children engaged in learning, teacher sensitivity, teacher and child interaction, children leading in the classroom, adhering to the visual schedule, being productive in their classroom duties and following classroom expectations.
