2. My name is Saysha Morrisey. I am a graduate of Elizabeth City State University located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, there I obtained my BS in Biology. I also attended East Carolina University located in Greenville, NC to take some education courses to obtain my teaching license. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree at Ashford University located in California. I am a NC certified teacher licensed to teach middle and secondary grades. I have taught at the secondary level for five years.

3. About me… I now live in Goldsboro, North Carolina. I am from Moyock/Elizabeth City, North Carolina by way of Tampa, Florida. I was born in Missouri but mostly raised in North Carolina, with a few of my adolescent years living in Florida. I moved to Florida to live with my grandmother for a while until she moved back to North Carolina. I moved to Goldsboro with my husband after we got married.

4. Major Influence on me in HS Favorite Teachers: Mrs. Bogues and Mrs. Forbes. Mrs. Bogues was my 10th and 11th grade English teacher. She is one of my favorite teachers because she was always making sure I did what I needed to do. She was like a school mom. Mrs. Forbes was my Allied Health teacher my 12th grade year. She is one of my favorite teachers because she was more than just a teacher, she was like a ‘home girl’. She would like to laugh and enjoy teaching us and she always made sure we knew our stuff. In her class we went to the nursing home for clinicals and she kept us working hard. Even after I graduated, she was more than happy to help me get things right for college.

6. Pursuing my MAED I decided to pursue my master’s degree because I knew I did not want to stay in the classroom (secondary) for 30+ years. I know that I want to work with children because I feel like it’s my calling to prepare them for their future. I desire to become a childcare owner/director. I feel as though having an advanced degree makes me have an advantage for better job opportunities and it also adds to my personal educational achievement goal. I desire to pursue my doctoral degree upon completion of my master’s degree.
