New Members Welcome! The Marine Biology Club at the University of Florida was founded in order to provide the undergraduate students with the opportunity to experience marine studies before the graduate level. We aim to provide opportunities for students interested in marine biology to experience and discover the field of marine biology. We strive to promote conservation and proper care of marine systems and provide services to the marine environment."

Policies Active Member Policy Active Member: A member of the Marine Biology Club who demonstrates regular participation in the club’s activities by attending meetings, fundraisers, trips, socials and other club events. Active members are allowed to attend all club events and receive first priority on trip spots. Meetings: 1 point Fundraisers: 2 points, plus 0.5 points per friend you bring that’s unassociated with the Marine Biology Club Trips: 1 point per day (so weekend trips are 2 points) Other club events: 1 point

Policies Points accumulate throughout the year. Each trip after the first trip will require a certain amounts of point. The required total will be higher each trip. But don’t worry! There will be more than enough opportunities to collect enough points! At the beginning of the semester, everyone gets a blank slate.

Policies Absent Member Policy If you miss a meeting, you may answer the President’s meeting minute quiz question. It will be a question that you can answer by simply reading the slides from the meeting. You answer the question by emailing the secretary with the answer. You will receive 0.5 points for correctly responding.

Policies Trip Sign Up & Refund Policy Money is your RSVP, not the “GOING” button on Facebook! You must pay the officer in charge IN PERSON to reserve your spot. Email reservations are allowed but priority goes to the people who attend meetings. Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to departure for trip. No refunds for any reason less than 72 hours prior to departure. If you cancel more than 72 hours in advance, you receive a full refund. If members fail to show up to a trip, or cancel in less than 72 hours prior to departure, they are NOT ALLOWED to attend next major club event or trip (excluding fundraisers).
