OBJECTIVES Define and Understand a Computer System as a process of Inputs, Processes and Outputs. Explain the importance of legal considerations when using computer systems

A COMPUTER SYSTEM … Is a machine which responds to instructions to complete a task. Or… A device which takes input data, processes it and outputs the result. InstructionsResults InputProcessingoutput Define and Understand a Computer System as a process of Inputs, Processes and Outputs.

INPUT, PROCESS, OUTPUT BreadHeatToast Food/ Oxygen Oxidation Energy, CO2, H2O InputProcessOutput

TASK ONE Now that you understand what a computer system is and that it works by a series of inputs, processes and outputs. Identify at least five input, process and outputs performed by computer systems in your everyday life and make a note of them. Think back to the starter for some clues! InputProcessOutput Define and Understand a Computer System as a process of Inputs, Processes and Outputs.

MINI PLENARY In groups of three choose a “Input, Process and Output” to act out to the class and see if they can guess what it is. Be ready to explain how your “Input, Process, Output” works when they guess the correct answer. Define and Understand a Computer System as a process of Inputs, Processes and Outputs.

TASK TWO You should now have realised that computer systems are all around us but we face “legal considerations” when we use them. Two of the main considerations are; The Data Protection Act 1998 & The Computer Misuse Act 1990 Choose software of your choice to tell fellow pupils about these considerations. Explain the importance of legal considerations when using computer systems

PLENARY Your teacher will choose at random pupils to present the work they have completed on legal considerations. Explain the importance of legal considerations when using computer systems
