9. At the beginning of this school year…. … all students received a “No Bullying Contract” to be signed by their parents.

10. The “No Bullying” Policy was adopted by our North Fork Local Board of Education.

11. Mr. Fordham helps… to make sure all students follow the rules on the bus.

12. Mrs. Hatch, Mrs. Stout and Mrs. Stevens… ….Go over the School Rules in the Library through Character Education Lessons.

13. Enforcing “No Bullying” is one way to keep students safe.

14. Bullying is REPEATED behavior…

15. In Physical Bullying… …Somebody gets hurt.

16. In Social Bullying… Someone is not included.

17. In Verbal Bullying… Words are not nice.

18. In Cyber Bullying… Online communication is inappropriate.

19. When a bullying incident is reported, the following questions are asked….

20. Was the act intentional?

21. Did the act occur more than once?

22. Did the act cause mental or physical harm?

23. Was the act severe, persistent or pervasive (spreading)?

24. Was there a negative impact on the educational, physical or emotional well-being of the other student?

25. When a bullying incident is reported, an Investigation takes place.

26. The bullying incident is… Documented in Writing

27. Steps are put in place to: Eliminate the Further Act of Bullying

28. Parents are notified with Confidentiality in Mind

29. So what are examples of NOT Bullying? Accidently bumping into someone is NOT bullying…

30. Pushing, shoving, tripping that happens once… …Is not bullying

31. Choosing to hang out with someone else… …Is Not bullying

32. Bullying is aggressive, repeated behavior… That is on purpose and happens over and over again…

33. So, How can we Prevent Bullying?

34. #1 Stick up for yourself and others… Tell the Bully to “Stop!”

35. # 2 Report Bullying… Tell an Adult Immediately

36. #3 Ask and Accept Help

37. #4 Discuss Bullying and How it is Harmful

38. #5 Listen to What Others Have to Say

39. #6 Model Proper Behavior
