11. Disadvantages of the Prius Expensive! Yes! These environment friendly cars come at a high price, but there is a solution to that problem. There is plenty of second hand cars that have been argued to work as good as a brand new ones. A brand new Prius cost between 20,000 to 23,000, but you can get second hand ones for as low as 10,000 which is practically half of the new price. Apart from that, the Prius is a winner and they are getting better and better as the years go by.
