INTRODUCTION Virtual keyboard is a small java application that lets you easily create multilingual text content on almost any existing platform and output it directly to web page. Virtual keyboard uses sensor technology and artificial intelligence to let users work on any surface as if it were a keyboard.
3
TYPES OF KEYBOARDS 101-key Enhanced keyboard 104-key Windows keyboard 82-key Apple standard keyboard 108-key Apple Extended keyboard
4
BASIC TYPES OF KEYS 1.Typing keys 2.Numeric keypad 3.Function keys 4.Control keys
5
Difficulties Of Ordinary Keyboard Muscular Injuries due to more finger or hand movements More space required Cables required Noisy
6
DIFFERENT TYPES OF KEYBOARDS LAYOUTS 1.Ergonomic Keyboards 2.Compact or Reduced Keyboards 3.Enlarged Keyboards 4.Portable Keyboards Alternatives…..
7
Inside the keyboard Key matrix Bounce Typematics.
8
Why Virtual keyboard? It reducing all the difficulties of ordinary keyboards. Simply we can say, it’s the combination of all the alternative solutions of ordinary keyboard.
9
VIRTUAL TYPING Virtual Devices have developed a flashlight-size gadget that projects an image of a keyboard on any surface and let’s people input data by typing on the image. The device detects movement when fingers are pressed down. Those movements are measured and the device accurately determines the intended keystrokes and translates them into text.
10
VIRTUAL TYPING DEVICES This is a set of clips that fit into your hand and try to sense the motion of the fingers and the hands (wrist) and translate them into keystrokes. This system comprises of three modules, the sensor module, IR-light source and the pattern projector. The device detects movement when fingers are pressed down. Those movements are measured and the device accurately determines the intended keystrokes and translates them into text.

VIRTUAL DEVICES Canesta Sense board Technologies KITTY Developer vkb
13
VIRTUAL DEVICES Canesta Is a laser projected keyboard. Use the same laser to scan the projection field and extract 3D data. Electronic Perception Technology, is a chip which they supply for 3rd parties to develop products using the projection/scanning technology.
14
Sense board Technologies Is an extreme case of a hybrid approach. Is a bracelet-like transducer that is worn on the hands which captures hand and finger motion. Using Bluetooth technology, the "typed“ information is transferred wirelessly to the computer,
15
KITTY Is a finger-mounted keyboard. Acronym for Keyboard-Independent Touch-Typing. combines the idea of a finger mounted coding device with the advantages of a system that uses touch typing.
16
Developer vkb can be projected onto any surface and uses laser technology to translate finger movements into letters. uses Siemens Procurement Logistics Services Rechargeable batteries.
17
Advantages Portability Accuracy Speed of text entry Lack of need for flat or large typing surface Ability to minimize the risk for repetitive strain injuries Flexibility Keyboard layouts can be changed by software allowing for foreign or Alternative keyboard layouts.
18
Drawbacks It is hard to use It is very costly The room in which the projected keyboard is used should not de very bright
19
APPLICATION Mobiles Face book application iphone
20
CONCLUSION Virtual keyboards will make typing easier and faster
