What Do Students Need To Bring To Class? Pencil or Pen (blue/black) Agenda Book Binder with dividers History Alive textbook (each student was issued a textbook that can be brought home as needed) iPad

Social Studies DCAS Computer Based Test of Grades 5-7 Social Studies content Taken only once every 3 years for social studies and science Late May 2015

How Much SS Homework Can Students Expect? Average of 2-3 assignments per week including reading and study guides May be graded for completion or accuracy

Preparing for tests 2-4 tests per marking period Study guides always given in advance and must be completed Test review session in class day before test Optional lunch study session held day before test

Homework website and Home Access Center School website: agwaters.org: Used for posting homework assignments, test dates, study guides, project due dates etc. Home Access Center: Used for posting grades. If a grade is missing, the student has not completed the assignment.

Excused Absences If students have an excused absence, they will have 1 day to make up work for each day they were absent without a grade penalty. Students are responsible for obtaining missed work from teachers upon return

Late Work Policy Late work (not including assignments due to an excused absence) will be accepted with a grade penalty Homework is accepted 1 day late for 50% credit Other assignments will receive a 10% point reduction per day

How will students be graded? 40% formative (warm ups, class work, small projects, homework) 60% summative (tests, major projects)
