Cycle Training 2005/6 courses ‘parachuted’ in by STA Bikes, Cycle Training UK Sept ’06 – Head created post of ‘Sustainable Travel Manager’, in-school training ever since Bikeability accredited to deliver cycle training ourselves since July ‘08 Level 1: Control Skills (Nursery to Year 4) Level 2: On-road Training (Years 5 & 6) Level 3: Year 6 transition to secondary school

Involving the local community School situated in centre of Stamford Hill’s Orthodox Jewish community Jewish Maternity Programme (JUMP) in Children’s Centre Women’s Cycling Club after school ‘Greenway’ plan to install cycle stands outside local shops to reduce car traffic

Funding School Budget investment can facilitate further fund-raising: Borough Road Safety Team / School Travel Advisors CCFL (Community Cycling Fund for London) Sustrans Local community funds, Borough or independent, e.g. Team Hackney PTA – school fairs, cake sales, sponsored rides etc Currently looking into: Esme Fairbairn, Awards for All, UnLtd, PCT, Olympic community funds
