History of Red Robin The original establishment was called “Sam’s Red Robbin” and the building dated back to 1940 in Seattle. Bought up in 1969 by Entrepreneur Gerry Kingen, he expanded the business and added Hamburgers to the menu which saw sales grow rapidly. 10 Years and 28 different burgers later, Kingen chose to turn Red Robin into a Franchise. Kingen eventually sold his controlling share to Franchisee Michael Snyder, who’s coporation managed the franchise poorly. Kingen stepped back in and nursed it back to health in 1995, and in 2000 Red Robin merged with the Snyder Group. Michael Snyder ended up taking the company public in 2002 Robert Craskey Section 009
