Name of Artifact: Contemporary Issues Date: November 12,2013 Course: EDUC 101 Brief Description: For this assignment, I created a presentation to talk to you about school safety. Rationale: To document my understanding of Standard# 3 Learning Environment I've put question at the end to see how safe you felt in school.

To foster a sense of community in the classroom, teachers must insure that the classroom is a safe place-not just a physically safe environment but also an emotionally safe place where students are treated with respect, both by the teacher and by each other.

Saving the lives of those who attend the school Being able to respond to possible threats and being able to protect the students and faculty Selecting teachers who have been through background checks

It can be a terrible learning environment It can make the school less safe

On December 14 th danger came upon and elementary school. A 20 year old man walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and killed 26 people and 20 where elementary kids.
