Introduction of CiCi Weston The MAED program outcomes that intrigue me the most are: Employ differentiated instructional practices aligned with learner strengths and differences, diverse cultures, and diverse communities to promote student learning in a safe, collaborative, engaging, inclusive 21 st Century learning environment. Design learner centered instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards, digital age standards (NETS- S) and 21 st Century skills to promote learner achievement. Design a variety of evidence based assessments used for ongoing evaluation of student progress, and to guide teacher and learner decision making.

Why Am I Intrigued?? One I believe that as a teacher the most important thing you can do is learn who your students are. Learning the students means understanding how they learn, what interests attracts them to learning, and the best ways to engage them in learning. Therefore, I am intrigued by the following outcome: Employ differentiated instructional practices aligned with learner strengths and differences, diverse cultures, and diverse communities to promote student learning in a safe, collaborative, engaging, inclusive 21 st Century learning environment. The outcome will contribute to my understanding how to best teach in a diverse environment, while maximizing learning of the students.

Why Am I Intrigued?? Two Assessments, a familiar term, are the new buzz word in education. In previous years assessment was seen as merely test taking and measuring students on how well they scored. Today assessment has a new meaning. Educators recognize the need to align assessment with the global economy. Alignment means inclusiveness and diverseness. Assessments (measuring tools) must be able to measure the diverse learner, making assessments diverse. They must capture students in the process of learning as well as in the already have learned stage. I am intrigued with the goal stated below: Design a variety of evidence based assessments used for ongoing evaluation of student progress, and to guide teacher and learner decision making.

Why Am I Intrigued?? Three The development of the Common Core State Standards bring a new playing field to signing student success. In education there had to be method that assured all students were learning the same thing, at their learning levels. Technology made its debut and needed to be included in the learning process. 21 st Century skills made its horizon and needed to be included in learning. Students needed to enhance and implement them. All are now important to learning and teachers must prepare students to be competitive in the global economy. Design learner centered instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards, digital age standards (NETS-S) and 21 st Century skills to promote learner achievement. This outcome assists in helping teachers prepare students for the global economy; in school and work.
